Drawing the Power of Microturbines in Philadelphia

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia is setting a new standard of sustainability.  The Hotel recently installed microturbines to generate its own electricity and heat.  The units supply all of the building’s day-to-day domestic hot water, 25% of its electric needs and 15% of the Hotel’s heating needs. The best part? They make a huge difference without taking up a lot of space. The microturbines have lowered the Hotel’s carbon footprint by almost 3,000 tonnes annually – which is like taking 509 cars off the road – and are barely noticeable in their 400 square-foot case on the roof.
